opening a logo sent to me in jpg and tif

I have Office 2007 and am trying to open a logo that was sent to me in both
jpg and tif. I can not open either. The message I get is unsupported file
format. How can that be?

What program are you trying to open the logo with? Can you *insert* the image
into Publisher? What program do you use to view pictures?

Publisher doesn't "open" those files but you can insert them in a Publisher
document.
