Opening a Word Document

K

KB

I am having trouble opening word documents on my computer. When I click a document to open it, either word opens with no document present or word becomes non-responsive. If word opens, I need to double click on my document again before it will open. Also, when opening documents, even small ones, it take a few minutes. I don't know why it takes so long. Does any one have any suggestions

Thanks!

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say. Could you explain it more?
.
Actually, I wish you would have gotten a better answer
than that rubbish, I have the same problem here. Maybe
someone SERIOUS could give a decent answer.

Thanks

Same problem with my sister in laws computer.
Brand new, XP Pro, Office XP Pro, all the latest patches,
but whenever you use the open file dialogue box it takes
almost a minute before the list of files appears. Task
list shows two copies of word open (I assume word and the
open file dialogue box) and both are flagged as not
responding. If you wait a minute the computer does come
back with the list of files.
Everything else appears to work well and fast (a little
slow on loading XP perhaps, but no errors).
Any suggestions appreciated.

Check that your anti-virus product isn't getting in the way.
Considering disabling its ability to scan DOC files.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
