Opening Microsoft Word

Amy

I use XP. After clicking Word I get a message that the
program is being installed, followed by a message that
the disk is needed for the installation. I cancel, then
get an error message. I cancel again. Then Word opens.
This has happened repeatedly in the past month, but the
program functioned correctly in the past. It's irritating
and time-consuming. How can this be corrected? Once
opened, the program works without any problem I've
noticed.

This is likely caused by either something in the normal.dot template,
the file's template or a template in the Startup Directory. To find the locations of these
files, go to Tools->Options...File Locations.

Move any files out of the Startup directory and restore them one by one to
find the culprit. If no Startup files or that doesn't help, rename normal.dot.

If you still have a problem, gave you removed any fonts?
