Opening new POP 3 email addresses

I recently installed Windows XP PRO. When I attempted to add new email address I received an error message telling me my email address was incorrect. I used Outlook Express to add the same address and it works fine. When I imported the files from Outlook Express to Outlook I received the same error message

Second, when I attempt to open my MSN emails, Outlook crashs and restarts. I open my MSN email by going the MSN website and do not have any problems

I never had these problems with Windows XP Home. Is there a conflict between Office XP Standard and Windows XP PRO?
