Opening office documents

I

Ian

Using Office 2003 Pro, when I go to open a document using the File> Open
option, or Open shortcut, when I click on the "Look in" box to select the
location of the document the dialogue box freezes for 1-2 minutes, during
which time the office application is unusable, after this period it appears
to sort itself out and becomes usable again. It also does a similar thing
when you go to the Save As dialogue box to choose the location to store the
document. It is the same with all Office applications. I've downloaded all
MS Office & XP updates and I've tried uninstalling then re-installing Office
but the problem is still there.

Any ideas???

TIA

Ian.

As a side note, if I locate and open a document using My Computer the file
opens fine, It just seems to be the Open and Save file dialogue boxes that
seem to cause the problem.

Try disconnecting any unavailable mapped network drives and see what
happens.

Are you running NAV?

I am running NAV, but I have sorted the problem now by disconnecting any
available mapped network drives as mentioned in earlier response.

Thanks for the suggestion tho'.
