Opening Powerpoint and finding Embedded Excel spreadsheet

Hi, I have a problem opening Powerpoint, and every time this does this, it
inserts an Excel spredsheet, and when you try to delete this, takes forever
(about 10 mins)

Any ideas please?

What version of PowerPoint? How are you opening it? Is it opening to an
existing presentation? Please tell us as much as possible. What doesn't seem
important to you may actually be very helpful in helping you resolve your
problem.

Hi Sonia, sorry for the lack of information. I am opening an existing slide,
which has an excel sheet in it, when i try to open it, it takes forever to do
so. The version is office 2002 on a windows 2000 machine
