Opening Word attachments issue

When opening a Word XP document attachment in Outlook XP an MS Word message
appears asking if "Do you want to merge changes in 'BlahBlah1' back into
'drive letter:\BlahBlah.doc"?

Any ideas where to start looking folks?

Tools->Options->Email Options->Advanced->Add properties to attachments to
enable reply with changes.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
