Operation failed error when sending attachments

When I receive a mail with an attachment (word,excel etc)
and open, make changes, close, save and try to forward the
attachment the error - "Operation failed" comes up. I have
to then save the attachment, make the changes and start a
new mail to send the attachment.

How can I fix the problem. SP1 and 2 is loaded with Office
XP
