Option Grayed Out To Select Recently Used File List

I have two users who are trying to get the option to have the last 4
documents they have accessed in word available to them but the option in:
tools-options-general tab is grayed out. We are running Office 2003 on
Windows 2000. Have given them full control of the MO folder in program
files...any other ideas to give them access to this option?

If TweakUI or another registry change was used to suppress the recent files
list on the Windows Start menu, that will also affect the list in Office. To
get the list back in Word, undo the change in Windows.

Another possibility is the removal by Ad-aware. They have two categories,
Critical and something else. The "something else" is your recently used file
names. Only remove the Critical...
