Is there a way of changing the size of the text boxes (e.g. Auto fit) when
using the Org chart template / function

Click on the org chart, then click on one of the boxes.
Right click on it and click Layout.
De-select Auto-Layout.

That still does not bring up the tick box option for 'resize autoshape to fit
text'. thanks anyway

hmm, you asked for a way to resize the box, so unchecking AutoLayout will
solve the problem.

If you want to fit the text into the box, what you can do it to click on
"Fit Text" in the Organization Chart toolbar. If the text appears to be too
small, adjust the box first before clicking "Fit Text".

VBA should be able to resize autoshape to fit text also.
