oulook is automatically sending a duplicate coded email why?

when sending to a particular contact list outlook is first sending what looks
like a coded text version of the email - It looks like html - then sending it
in normal text.

You didn't answer the question. Message formats can be one of three types:
"Rich Text", "Plain Text", or "HTML". Which of these threee values have you
selected?
