Out Look Logon Process

For some reason everytime I logon to Outlook it prompts
me for my POP3 email password even though I have setup
the profile to log me on automatically. I suspect that
there is a setting somewhere that is telling the system
to prompt me for a password everytime, but I do not know
where it is. I am using XP with Outlook 2002.

In the e-mail account pane (tools-> e-mail accounts)
select your account and press change.

I have tried this many many times. But for whatever
reason, Outlook wouldn't save password on this machine.
If I restart the computer or close and open Outlook, it
asks for the password again. I have also gone into
the 'Tools' -> 'e-mail accounts' -> 'Change' -> remember
Password', but no success!

Do you know how to fix this? Thanks for your pointers.
