Out of control Pert Chart

Microsoft Project '98:
I have about 275 tasks in my Gantt chart but I really
want a nice pert Chart. I know it will be Large but
currently the Pert chart has extreamly long arrows going
from one tast to the next. For example Task 1 is the
predecessor to taks 2-4 and then when I go to the Pert
chart tasks 2-4 have arrow coming from task 1 but they
are spread across 6 pages.
Is there anyway to get the pert chart to shorten the
arrows/connecting lines? So far the only thing I can do
is manually move every task box closer to the predecessor
which when you have 275 tasks this is not an option.
Any ideas??

Go to www.criticaltools.com they have a product for your out of control pert
charts. It does an amazing job of untangling the lines and putting the boxes
where they should go. I think they have demo softweare that you can download
and try too.
