"Out of Memory"

When I try to open a Powerpoint Presentation, I get the error "Out of
Memory". Any clues? I have more than enough memory in my computer. 1.25 GB
of RAM. I am using PP XP.

Is it just one presentation or any time you open PowerPoint. I wonder if
you have a corrupted presentation. Additionally, if you can open
PowerPoint, go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates and install
all patches. Additionally, go to the Help menu and choose Detect and
Repair. Neither of these things will fix a corrupted presentation, but if
there is something wrong with PowerPoint, they should help.

At this point I am going to rule it out as a corrupt file since all my other
presentations open up just fine. Thanks David!

Out of curiousity, would there be a compatibility issue if the presentation
were built in an earlier version of PP?

Out of memory is an odd error for a corrupt file, but I wouldn't rule it
out -- I've seen stranger things happen.

There shouldn't be compatibility issues.

Then again, if there's an old-style Org Chart in the file (the type usually
created in PPT 97 or 2000), I suppose it could be causing the "out of
memory" error. This error happens because Org Chart can't handle the number
of fonts on your computer, so to work aound it, you need to get rid of some
fonts. Just move them from your Windows|Fonts folder so you can reinstall
them later if you want to use them.
