Out of office message in Outlook 2002

Hi...I have Outlook 2002 and want to set an out of office message. When I
follow the intructions it tells me that under tools there should be a Out of
Office Assistant. That does not appear - and it says I need Microsoft
Exchnage. I sthere another way of doing this without exchange?
