Outbox

I have the strangest thing happening. If I have a message waiting to be
sent in my Outbox and I go to the Outbox folder, any message that I
click on (just once, not twice to open it) changes from send mode
(italics) to don't send (no italics). To send the message I then have
to open it and hit send again.

This isn't the way it has worked up to now. Up to now I could only take
a message out of the send mode by double clicking and opening it.

Can anyone tell me what it going on. I must have accidentally changed
and option somewhere, but I have no idea where.
