Outgoing mail server and multiple accounts

Chris Dunaway

At my work, I have set up Outlook 2002 to retrieve mail from my personal
e-mail account as well as my work account using Exchange. My personal
e-mail account is on a different ISP.

This setup seems to work well for receiving mail. But, for reasons that I
do not know, my company has restricted outgoing mail to the company server
through exchange. I cannot send an outgoing mail, unless it is through my
company email account.

This is normally not a problem, except when I hit 'Reply' to an email that
comes to my personal account. Outlook attempts to send the reply through
that account and it fails because of the restriction in Exchange.

What I want to do is create a macro or something that when I hit reply, to
have it use my company account instead of trying to use my personal
account.

I have very little experience with Outlook programming, but know VB6. Can
anyone point me to some resources or hint that will help me accomplish
this?

Thanks,

If your company has restricted this, it's probably for good reason. Are you
allowed to be using your personal e-mail at work? Check with your network
admins. Even if this is allowed, do you really want your personal e-mail to
become company property as its on their server?

You may be better off using webmail to check your personal e-mail, if your
company hasn't blocked that - www.mail2web.com is one you might use if your
mail host doesn't have its own webmail feature.
