Outlook 07 Deleted Items folder

I recieve emails and delete the ones I don't need or am done with
accordingly. However when I select the Deleted Items folder to look up an
old deleted item I find that it is empty. Since I started working this
problem I have found where the items are going. Because I am using my
Outlook through a gmail acct the messages are being stored in the folders on
Outlook associated with gmail. Now that I think about it this sounds pretty
normal. However if I go to my gmail account I cannot find a listing of the
deleted messages. How do I set it up to where Deleted items stay in the
Deleted Items folder?

Are you using IMAP or POP3 to access your GMail mailbox? Also, as a "best
practice" don't use the Deleted Items folder as a place to keep things you
might need again.

Sounds like you are using IMAP. Outlook marks items for deletion and only
deleted them when you use Edit, Purge.
