Outlook 2000 duplicating emails

We have a user on Windows xp professional and Office
2000. Outlook was configured originally with Corporate
email. A POP3 was added later to access the same email
from home using RoadRunner/cable access. While connected,
he will receive emails as usual. When he reboots, the
emails will duplicate. He does not have "Leave Messages
on Server" checked. What am I missing? Can someone help
stop these duplicates? Thanks
