Outlook 2000 - Password not saved

Running XP w/ Ofc2000. Outlook will not save password.
Running as IMO contacting POP3 mail on Yahoo. It always
prompts for password and then connects. How do I get it
to allow password to be saved. Everytime I enter
password in Account/Properties, it shows to be there
until I apply/OK, go back in and it is gone?

The problem you are experiencing is normally due to the Registry containing incorrect information for the Protected Storage System Provider registry subkey for your account.
