Outlook 2000 - Strange Problem Needs Resolution

Hello,

I posted this same question here on February 8th but I am still having
continuing and worsening problems. I really need some clues here.

Having just tried to open Outlook 2000 and finding it would not respond
I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and then counted 159 (yep, 159) Outlook.exe files
running. I checked this after receiving a Virtual Memory Minimum error
message.

I am using O2K SR1 with all updates applied on a Win XP Pro system (all
updates also applied).

It is only in the last few months that I have encountered this multiple
copies problem and need to try to find out what is causing this to happen.

Please, can anyone advise me what to check here? Why would the system
keep opening new copies of Outlook.exe? I have also seen the same thing
happen with WinWord.exe but only a few copies show up here.

Any suggestions much appreciated.
