Outlook 2000 WinXP Home - Send is FUBAR

Still no solution to my and others' problem with Outlook 2000 on WinXP
Home. Messages marked Send go to the OutBox un-italicized and are not
sent when Send/Receive is pushed.

How can Microsoft put out a product that actually doesn't work in it's
most core function?

Is there anywhere I can turn for a fix or solution?
