Outlook 2000

Each time I close Outlook 2000 I get error message: ' Microsoft Outlook has
encountered a problem and needs to close...'.

Despite following all instructions - checking for updates, inserting
original installation disks etc., the update installation fails repeatedly
and problem remains.

Any ideas? (I have tried updates without installation disk option too
without success).

Thanks in anticipation.

Check Tools | Options... | Other | Advanced Options... | COM Addins...
Anything in there? Or instead of COM try Addin Manager...

Thanks George - followed your instructions and found checked box for outlook
synchronisation in COM Addins & OutlookSync and Net Folders checked in Add-in
Manager. What now?

What you want to do is remove the COM addins first. You want to remove one
then check if your Outlook starts behaving. You should start with 3rd party
COMs first. Try those "sync" ones first. Actaully what I am looking for is
some other application you may have which is integrating with Outlook such
as Anti-Virus software.

Many thanks George - now sorted and I can stop pulling my hair out! Regards
Richard.
