Outlook 2002 Compatability With Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access 2000

We currently use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
2000. We use Lotus Notes for our email, calendar, etc.
This week we are converting from Notes to Outlook. Our
question is what version should we convert to -- Outlook
2000 or 2002? We are currently running Windows 2000 but
will be converting to XP after the first of the year. We
will not upgrade Office until July. We want to go to
Outlook 2002 because of the extra security features. Are
there any problems with using Outlook 2002 with the 2000
version for the rest of the Office products? Do you give
up any functionality by using Outlook 2002 with the 2000
version of Word, Excel, etc. I have looked extensively on
Microsoft's website and can find nothing. Can you
recommend any articles, etc.? Thank you so much for your
help.
