Outlook 2002 does not delete of server

I am quite new to Outlook 2002.
I noticed that I keep getting the same messages several
times.
Hence I assume Outlook is not deleting my mail of the
server, yet I have the option "leave a copy on the
server" unticked for all accounts.
What can I do to fix this ?
