Outlook 2002 -- exchange server not responding

I have verified the server name and all settings. When I
go into mail control panel (XP Pro MAchine) it takes
forever and finally will verify mailbox name on server (4
to 5 minutoes). Usually the first time I open outlook it
is OK and then after that it times out. I have tried
under different user profiles (multiple mailboxes even)
and have re-installed outlook and I still gett he same
problem. Any ideas??
