Outlook 2002 hangs with every action

Hello,

A user has a laptop with XP Home and Outlook 2002. He accesses the
company's Exchange server, which is in a domain, by doing the normal
authentication (Domain\Username & Password) when prompted. This has
been working for him for a while, but all of a sudden his Outlook
hangs constantly and is unusable. If he even clicks on a button in
the toolbar, it hangs. The program starts up in over a minute, and
any action in Outlook will take over a minute to complete. The screen
will sometimes go white because it is not responding. The only time
Outlook works well is when it is offline. Outlook Web Access works
fine though so I do believe the network connection is ok. The task
manager doesn't show any applications taxing the CPU. Any
suggestions? BTW, Instant Messenger is unchecked in
Tools->Other->Options.

Thanks.
