Outlook 2003 hangs on e-mail messages with attachment

When I either highlight a message with an attachment in outlook 2003, or try to open it, outlook hangs for about 10-15 seconds. I have uninstalled office and reinstalled office, and it continues to do this. It did not do it for the first 2 months I had iot installed. Anyone else have this problem and is their a fix?
