Outlook 2003 IP Problem

Here's a question for the experts...

I have a client who can't get his mail until he re-enters the
last three digits of his mail server IP address in account setup.
i.e. - They're there when he opens the account setup, he just
has to delete them and re-enter them, save, exit, etc.
and then everything works fine.

Any ideas?

Well... umm... What happens when he *doesn't* do that?

And does his mail server have a fully qualified domain name? I'd be
surpised if it didn't, so I'm just curious wshat happens if he uses that
instead.

He gets an error message. I'll find out exactly what it is.

We'll try that.
