Outlook 2003 is replying to emails very very slowly? any suggestions?

When I go to click on reply to my emails , it works very very slowly when
compared to 2002, I can't work out why.

Is there some kind of update that will make a big difference to this?

Is Office/Outlook up to date with patches? Define "slowly."
