Outlook 2003 junk e-mail folder

James Serra

I'm using Outlook 2003 and my email accounts use IMAP. How can I
prevent Outlook from always creating a junk email folder? It will
create the folder, I will delete it, but later it will create it
again. It's a pain to keep having to delete it. I appreciate any
help on this.

You can't delete it as it is a folder Outlook needs to function properly.

There is, however, an option to tell the junk folder not to put emails there
any more.
I have Norton Anti-Spam and I prefer them to go there.
So I set my "Junk" option to the top option, which is to do nothing with
them.
Hope this helps

Why not use both?

Does anyone know if there's a way to rename it, or to tell Outlook to
use some other folder as the junk email folder?

Basically "no", cause if you do some functions could stop functioning
properly.
Why do you want to change the name anyway?

Because I already have server-side spam filters (which I cannot
reconfigure) which put spams into a folder called 'Spam'. I'd like
Outlook to use that folder too, so any spams the server lets slip
through but that Outlook catches will go in there.

Contact your administrator to change the folder name on the server. Probably
everyone with Outlook 2003 in your organization wants this.
