Outlook 2003 not downloading old email off of server

I just installed Outlook 2003 on my desktop. It is my first time using any version of outlook. I was able to download 400 messages that go three months back, but it stopped there. It didn't download any messages older than about 3 months. How can I download the older messages. The email is managed by a Novell server.

Also, is there a way to download messages that I sent using the Novell online interface? Thanks
