Outlook 2003 not receiving mail

I have a Laptop with Outlook 2003 setup with offline files. This computer
will sit few only a few minutes and then will no longer send and receive.
It forces you to hit the send receive button to get your mail. I have it
set to automatically send receive every 4 mins, but this is not happening.
Any help would be great.
