Outlook 2003 not synchronizing

The show progress (which I am sure is enabled to display) doesn't come up at
all. I have made changes to ensure that synchronizing should occur, but it
just doesn't. I have looked in all the familiar places. Any ideas?

I am trying to synchronize Deleted & Sent Items, Inbox, Notes, Tasks, and

LOL. I am the company IT people.

I have set up Outlook off-line synching for many years without having this
exact issue (when all the right boxes have been checked). I am going to try a
Detect and Repair...
