Hi,
Exchange 5.5 NT4 Sp6a Domain server with XP pro SP1 &
Outlook 2003 client.
I have just upgraded to Outlook 2003 from Outlook 2002
(came with new laptop) and have a problem when I
initially start outlook. When I open outlook I have to
wait about 2 minutes before it actually opens. I get a
message in the system tray saying outlook is trying to
retrieve data from the microsoft exchange server [server
name].[domain]. When this option clears I then get a
message that outlook is syncronising folder then after
about another 30 seconds I am able to work without
issues. This happens every time I start outlook, even if
I just close it down and re-open it.
I have searched the message boards and technet but can't
find anything. I have also installed evaluation copies of
Outlook 2003 on three other machine and they all show the
same problem. I have also tried disabling the cached
exchange mode but this seems to have made no difference.
I guess its a name resoultion issue, but I have no other
problems connecting to the servers. I have noticed when I
enter the server name it automatically add the .[domain].
Could this be a problem?
Has anyone any suggestions as its driving me mad!
