Just last week my outlook started taking almost 10 minutes (no exageration)
to open. The splash screen is visible during this process and part of the
Outlook window appears.
Here are the facts.
My computer has 2 gig of memory and is running the latest service packs for
windows and Office. Before last week it would take about 10 seconds to open.
I am running in cache'd mode. My .ost file is approximately 300 megs.
Here is what I have tried.
I tried running not under cache'd mode.
I tried running in safe mode.
I disabled the smart tags where the Messenger toggle used to be.
I tried running the various clean switches from the command line.
I uninstalled office and deleted as many of the folders under Application
Data in documents and settings and I could figure were related to office.
I reinstalled Office Pro and loaded all updates from the web.
Here is one interesting note. I have an exchange account and a POP 3
account in Outlook. I tried taking each out and just running with one or the
other. I get the same problem.
