Outlook 2003 VPN connection

Anyone out there running Outlook 2003 client against a corporate
Exchange 5.5 SP4 server on a VPN client?

When using the secure client software that comes with Sonicwall and
Watchguard firewalls, outlook 2000 works just fine. So does 2002.
Both connect about as you'd expect over a VPN.

When using 2003, however, it takes about 2 minutes for the client to
"find" the exchange server, even though the VPN connection is
established, I can ping it by name, by address, and can even map
drives just fine, all the while the Exchange server just takes forever
to be reached via the client and get a connection.

Suggestions?

I just resolved the same problem by reconfiguring my vpn server and
adding tcp ports 1043 and 1066 to our vpn tunnels. I am using MS
Exchange 5.5 on NT4 and Symantec Enterprise Firewall and VPN 7 with
latest patches.

hope this helps,
Lee
