Outlook 2003 will not start - 2nd profile

Jim Allsopp

I am using my laptop and connecting it to the network via a domain. I have
a new profile setup on my laptop with a username and the domain. In
addition I have my original profile setup on my laptop that uses no network
domain. When attempting to use Outlook 2003 on the new profile to get into
the network, I receive this error message: "Microsoft Cannot Start
Outlook." Why will Outlook not install on the new profile? Excel, Word and
Access did fine. Any suggestions, solutions?

Thanks.

Hi Jim,
Is your old profile still working?
Do you use Exchange in your domain?

Yes, I will be using Exchange in the domain. However, Outlook would not
start when connected to the network via the domain. I never got to the step
of adding an email account using Microsoft Exchange as the server. I have
uninstalled Office and reinstalled twice via my original profile (once),
once as administrator. The same error message came up "Cannot Start
Microsoft Office Outlook." I'm stuck

Are you using Control Panel->Mail Icon->show profiles to see what is going
on with your mail account?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Jim Allsopp asked:
