Outlook 2003

B

Big Giblets

I'm running Outlook 2003 on XP SP2.
Everything works fine in my office location where we have a wired network.
However at home where we have a wreless network I can receive emails but not
receive them.
Also if I create an email at home it stays in my outbox when I go to the
office and send mails.
I can still send emails from the office, provided that they are created
there

Please describe your environment better

Are you on a VPN ?

1.This may be a "permissions" problem

Some ISP's will not allow you to send emails from another server (than
theirs) without proper authentication

2. This may be a security issue.

We will only allow those who are logged onto the domain use our server to
send emails. If one of our users tries to use a POP client, he will have to
use his ISP's SMTP server to send messages.

Thanks

JM

No I'm not on a VPN but..........
In the office we use clara.net for email and ADSL.
I have organised and paid for it so that we use the relay server for
outbound mail.
This can be accessed across the internet.
At home we have wireless Wanadoo Broadband.
Are you suggesting that the Wanadoo ISP needs to give us "permission" to
send SMTP traffic outside of their network?
