Outlook and Outlook Express

Hello,
Currently I am using Outlook for my emails, can I use Outlook express only
for news groups - is there any clash between these two programs.

help please

Dear,
There is no such problem or clash between these two, you can use OE for
newsgroup and OL for emails.

"%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /outnews
The above can be used in a desktop shortcut to open OE newsreader directly.
You may have to modify the path, the above is the default C: path

As a Matter of Fact there is no option to setup News Group in Outlook... You
have to use Outlook Express (OLEXP) for News Groups...But you can setup a
Tool button in Outlook to open OLEXP when you want to read the News Groups..

Try this..

Open Outlook and goto Tools > Customize
In customize window goto the 'Commands' tab
Under 'Categories' highlight 'Go'
Now under 'Commands' if you scroll down you should have 'News' listed
Now Click on 'News', Drag and Drop it in the Outlook Main Window Toolbar
right after the 'Forward' button...

Now you would have a new button in Outlook for 'News'....
When you hit this button Outlook will open Outlook Express....
