Outlook automatically deletes messages

Somehow I have changed a setting, and now my Outlook inbox
automatically rids itself of messages over a week old.

I need desperately to set it to keep all messages until I
manually delete them; could you pleas provide explicit
instuctions as to how to effect this change?

Have you got a filter or view applied as it sounds like you are viewing by
"last 7 days" check here Views > Current View

Absolutely the case; thanks.

At first I felt stupid when I read the answer, I must
admit, but I just started using Outlook, there are three
people f***ing with the settings on the computer I use,
I'm lightheaded from the flu, the Atkins diet has lowered
my thought threshhold, etc. . .
