I exported all my Outlook personal folders to a personal
folder file (.pst) in order to reinstall Windows XP. Most
of the data (inbox, contacts, calendar) had been created
in Outlook 2002, which had recently been upgraded to
Outlook 2003 without problems.
After reinstalling Windows XP and Office 2003 I cannot re-
import the backup .pst file. When I use the Import and
Export Wizard it tells me that 'the file backup.pst is
not a personal folders file'. The Inbox Repair Tool says
it does not recognize the file. I have followed the
advice on converting a non-Unicode data file (.pst) to a
Unicode data file (.pst), but it doesn't help.
I need to recover a year's worth of data, but how?
