Outlook contacts deleted or moved. please help.

On a new profile (win xp) I imported contacts from a pst file. All went well.
I then synced my HTC 8525 phone and added even more contacts. I "cleaned up"
the contacts and deleted duplicates, etc. Now I have a clean contacts list on
my computer just the way I like it.
Next, with phone not connected, I deleted all my phone contacts so it would
be empty. Then I thought I would sync it with outlook again and all my
contacts would transfer to the phone.
WELL, that didn't happen. With the phone contacts empty and outlook contacts
available, I synced the phone and the outlook contacts dissapeared and the
phone contacts stayed empty. Now I have no contacts at all.
I know I can re-import the backup pst file again and have those, but there
were many contacts that were added to it after I imported it.
If anyone has any information that can help me, please let me know.

Contact either the help forum or the tech support of your phone. Outlook is
a passive body in phone synch processes....

All else aside, you should not "import" anything from a PST file. Correct
(safer/better) approach is to open the backup PST file and copy whatever you
need from one folder to another.

Re: missing contacts, first thing to check is your deleted items folder and
hope that the sync software didn't permanently delete everything during the
sync. If it did, you are out of luck. Aside from always being sure to have a
current backup - also suggest that you review the "sync software" settings
before you do it again to avoid a repetition.
