Outlook doesn't receive message when it opens

On my old computer running Outlook 2002, Outlook
automatically went into receive mode and received
messages when Outlook opened. I have a new computer with
Outlook 2002 installed and when Outlook opens, new
messages are not automatically received. I must press F9
to receive messages. I am sure the settings are correct
and are the same as on the old machine. Does anyone have
any ideas why new messages are not received when Outlook
opens? Thanks!

Check out Tools > Options > Mail Setup > Check "Send Immediately" and then
select the Send/Receive button on the same page > Make sure you have checked
the "Schedule an Automatic send/receive every" checkbox.
