Outlook dowloands old messages from server everytime!

Hello,
I use outlook to send and recive messages that are picked up from a pop
server. Sometimes when I have to shut down my outlook and when I turn it back
on, Outlook starts to downloan all the messages from the server that were to
be left on the server, and you can imagine wht a big problem this would be.
Can someone help please?

There's nothing to help. If you abort the send/receive process before it
finishes, Outlook will not know what it has downloaded because the data
isn't retained until the end of the send/receive process.
