Outlook.exe stays open

I am wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I
close outlook, the outlook.exe still shows up as open and
I can see mail being received. I am in windows 2000 and
using Office XP.

Yeah Outlook does that unless you go File-> Exit

I'm having the same problem all of a sudden; I have a
laptop and a desktop; win2k on the laptop and xp on the
desktop. Just started happening yesterday.

I have the same issue in XP and Office XP. It really
complicates logging out or shutting down because you have
to force-close outlook.exe. I haven't been able to find
any answers.
