OUTLOOK FAILS TO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY

My Outlook 2000 does not close down completely, and often prevents me from
opening IE6 until I shut it down with Ctrl-Alt-Del and 'end task'.

Can anyone suggest any fix for this? 'Detect and Repair' does not make any
difference.

Thanks

Something may keep open outlook.exe in the background - if you're using
ActiveSync or fax software or something, it will do that.

Not sure why it would prevent you from using IE, tho - it isn't really
related.
