Outlook Files

Hi all,

Can someone tell me how many Outlook (Office icons) I am supposed to have
in... C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook?

At the moment, I have one called Outlook; another called Personal Folders;
and another one called Mail Box. I am using only one POP account.

You can easilly find out how many *.pst file you should have in that folder
by following these instructions:
1- Control panel-->Mail-->data files...
2- The names you see there are the file names which outlook uses inside that
folder (which has the extension *.pst). Other files with *.pst extension are
from your old installations.

I see one .pst file, and then I see another .pst file that says mail
delivery location.

I was thinking that I only had one file when I installed Outlook for the
first time...Now it seems that I have two in the location that you directed
me to, and I see a third file in: C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

I wonder if I need to delete any of them?

It would help if you continued with your thread in the OL ng
Since you appear to have installed/uninstalled a couple of times its
possible you have created several pst's in the process, allthough on
reinstall OL should find the old pst
By default the pst is named outlook.pst
Simply open the various pst's in OL to see whether they contain anything,
use the mail applet to set the delivery location.
I wonder why you imported OE address book in csv format when all that was
neccessary was to, in OL File> Import> OE address book

I'm not 100% positive that I imported the contacts via .csv, but I think I
did. Outlook couldn't find any .pst files the last time I installed it.

I am reading this message from OE6's newsgroups page...I have different
thread ongoing at the MS Office help site...Is this forum available from the
MS help site too?

I quite sure I was wrong in saying that I imported my contacts in the .csv
format. I finally got my Outlook "Import Export" wizard to function again,
and it jogged my mind a little.

I can see your point.
