Outlook generating copies of email files

P

Philip L Jackson

Over the last few weeks, Outlook has started generating lots of copies of
emails in files with names like s1lk.m, s1lk.n, s1m8.2. These appear in the
c:\ root. The content of these files appear to be text versions of emails
received.

Why has this started and how do I stop it cluttering up my drive?

Thanks in advance

What software have you installed over the last few weeks that this started
happening? This is not Outlook doing this - have you scanned your computer
for a malicious program?

Thanks for your reply

Nothing has been added for a few months, Skype about 6 months ago, Netgear
VPN PROSafe Client and Vodafone Mobile Connect about 3 months.

I have Norton AV Enabled and it does a full system scan every Friday night,
which finished OK the other evening.

I will go through a few web sites and try running some other virus scanners.
