Outlook Hangs when receiving mail

Chris Cone

Hello
I am using Outlook 2000 within a Windows XP Plaform.
Recently, as I log on to the internet, and seek to
receive my mail, Outlook will begin to download, but as I
get to message number 2 it hangs, times out and says that
it is unable to communicate with my server. I have
contact my ISP and everything is ok on their end, and I
can even naviagate the Internt via IE. However I am
perplexed as to why Outlook is now acting out in a way
foregin to all other times. In fact I can access my mail
through my yahoo account, but it seemingly will not allow
me to access mail via Outlook. I did have a power bump
the other day. Is something missing do to this? How do I
do a repair to correct any unforeseen problems? Is there
something else that is impeding the smooth process that I
have had for months? Thanks in advance for helping and
valid suggestions
Merely
Chris

Hi Chris. I'm having the same problem. I was told by my
ISP to contact Microsoft to do a "RIP and Restore" however
Microsoft does not cover my software since I purchased it
from Dell. If you purchased yours through another
distributor you might want to contact Microsoft at 800-936-
5700 and ask them to do that and see if it helps.
Unfortuneately for me I'm hoping someone knows how to do
this. Good Luck.

are you trying to connect to an exchange server remotely?
if yes
give www.seasidesw.com a try

its making the access to exchange faster , more secure with an SSL
connection , and even let you carry your exchange account on a tiny USB disk
on key.... amazing
